In this training, Dr. Grant will provide an overview of what trauma is, how it impacts the brain, and why different strategies for behavior management are often needed for consistent success. Strategies for supporting regulation and managing common behavioral concerns for this population will be presented. While strategies for more escalated out of classroom management will be covered, more focus will be placed on strategies that can be used in the classroom and around other students with minimized disruptions. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how and why these students function as they do and with several practical strategies that can be immediately used in the classroom.
