In working with people who have sustained significant relational and societal rupture without repair, not only are their stories fractured, but so are their interpersonal neurobiological story telling mechanism. Hence, it is crucial in any healing endeavor to remember where one’s story actually begins in terms of the biblical narrative, which provides the necessary narrative backdrop within which we come to understand our traumas. This keynote will address crucial interpersonal neurobiological elements that we must encounter to lay the groundwork for sustained trajectories of healing for individuals and communities alike.
